Step 1: Set the Scene – Cleanliness Is Key

Before anything, make sure your cat’s resting and feeding areas are clean. We like to use washable placemats under food and water bowls, so that any oil or residue doesn’t build up on the floor. Using a soft, easy-to-wipe pet bowl also makes a difference—no lingering grime!

Step 2: Daily Wipe Downs

A soft cloth and warm water can go a long way. Gently wipe your cat’s face, especially under the chin, where oil tends to build up. No need for fancy cleansers—warm water and a routine are enough.

Step 3: Skin-Friendly Clothing

Clothes aren't just for photos—they help protect sensitive skin from dust, scratches, and allergens. Choose soft, breathable clothing made for hairless breeds. Avoid anything too tight or rough. Our favorite pieces are those that are lightweight, snug-fitting, and easy to take off for daily skin checks.

Step 4: Travel Smart with a Clean Bag

If your cat enjoys outings or vet trips, a clean, ventilated pet bag is essential. Make sure the lining is washable or easy to wipe down—oils from their skin can transfer easily to fabrics. After every use, we wipe our carrier down and let it air out.

It’s totally normal for hairless cats to have some blackheads. The key is to observe changes—if the area becomes red, swollen, or irritated, it’s time to see a vet. Otherwise, gentle home care is enough.
